After its USB 2.0 ATA/ATAPI storage solutions (Product ID: GL811) was certified by USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) last month, Genesys Logic's High-Speed Card Reader solutions (Product ID: GL813) achieved official USB certification for High-Speed USB products after successfully passing a full suite of rigorous USB-IF compliance tests.

Armed with the stable performance of the company's frequently certified UTMI Transceiver, Genesys Logic's latest product of High-Speed storage solutions, i.e. USB 2.0 card reader, passed the USB-IF compliance tests, including those held with other participant companies' products, in the USB Compliance Workshop hosted by USB-IF in California USA between January 29 and February 1, 2002.  The card reader successfully received official USB-IF certification and its excellent performance was highly praised by participant companies and their representative.

According to Genesys Logic, the Flash Card is believed to be the only storage solution combining information reliability, power consumption and performance to compact and portable electronic apparatus, which is becoming lighter and smaller, in the trend of IA as information products turn into domestic appliance and vice versa. Serving personal portable data storage, Flash Cards can also be used widely in applications such as DSC (digital camera), Video camera, PDA and MP3. In the past, massive data transmission used to take a long time because the bandwidth of USB1.1 (1.5MB) was very limited.  Now users are entitle to much reduced data transmission time after Genesys delivered the new USB 2.0 solutions, the high-speed bandwidth of which reach 60MB.

Such accomplishment provides another perfect example of Genesys Logic's excellent competence in IC design with its long-term effort that has gone into developing storage solutions.  Many of the companies participating in the Workshop have developed applications with the controller IC and all these application have also become USB-IF-certified High-Speed products after passing the compliance testing from USB-IF.  Their certification has convincingly proven the quality of Genesys Logic's products and its thorough support and service for its clients.  It shows that what available from the company is not only a single source of key components but also a package of total integrated solutions.
